CPower Acquires Demand Response Partners, Expanding its Demand Response Portfolio.

CPower announced today that it has acquired all of the demand response assets of Buffalo, NY based Demand Response Partners, Inc. (DRP).

The acquisition is part of CPower’s strategy to expand its footprint in the New York ISO market and grow its nationwide demand response portfolio organically and through acquisition.

CPower’s Chief Executive Officer John Horton asserts CPower and DRP share customer focused values. “DRP’s depth of knowledge and level of expertise in the demand response market and reputation for always putting the customer first make them a natural fit for us,” commented CPower’s Chief Executive Officer, John Horton. “We welcome DRP’s customers into our business and look forward to serving them with the entire CPower team.”

By excluding the DRP energy supply brokering business from the acquisition, CPower is honoring its commitment to work with, and not compete against, independent energy supply brokers and consultants.

Since its formation in 2008, DRP has earned a reputation as a leader in the New York energy market. The company has been a pioneer in the New York Independent System Operator’s (NYISO) Demand Side Ancillary Service Program (DSASP) by being the first market participant to successfully enroll demand response resources in the 10-minute synchronous reserve capacity market in 2012.

Former DRP President Carl Almeter will join CPower as Vice President and head of the New York market and will also head the company’s nationally offered ancillary services. Mr. Almeter added, “The combined expertise and advanced load management capabilities both companies bring to the table will provide unparalleled value to the large commercial and industrial customer markets we serve. I am excited to join the CPower team.”

CPower is a leading provider of demand side management services to commercial and industrial customers in the US, with 25+ years of knowledge and experience in helping customers implement intelligent energy management programs.
