“I knew I was going to be an engineer since my parents bought me a drafting board and kit equipped with T square, triangles and compasses in the sixth grade.” Ray can now easily lay claim to being the company “veteran”, going back with the organization over 20 years starting with Delmarva Power which became Conectiv Solutions, then Enerwise Global Technologies, then Comverge, and ultimately CPower! And the key to this long successful run? “I think it’s so important to listen twice as much as you speak, as customers will tell you the issues they need help with, but you have to really listen!”A ‘one size’ fits all approach definitely does not work in the energy and demand management market, says Ray. “I love working in the energy field, and CPower affords me the opportunity to work across all vertical markets for the Commercial, Industrial and Institutional segments. This breadth and depth of diversity in our customer base — from the largest industrial plants to commercial office buildings, hospitals and small box retail stores — helps keep things interesting and affords constant opportunities for learning and growth.” Ray holds a BSME from Widener University and was inducted into Tau Beta Pi in college as a lifelong member (the National Engineering Honor Society where only the top 4% are selected to join). He is an avid reader and family historian, and enjoys taking day trips and traveling with his wife and their two cocker spaniels.
