Special Case Resource

Earn revenue and help New York’s grid evolve into the future with demand response.

The Special Case Resource Program (ICAP/SCR) is a reliability-based demand response program offered by the NYISO. During periods of increased demand, or when the grid is affected by unplanned events like inclement weather, Special Case Resource participants earn revenue for reducing their electricity consumption.

When your organization participates in the SCR program, you can earn revenue, assist with grid reliability, preserve the environment, and help keep energy prices stable in New York.

Earn back what you’ve put in

As part of the New York State Public Service Commission – Clean Energy Standard (CES) – Zero Emission Credit (ZEC) program issued in 2016 to maintain nuclear power plants, your organization is now paying a new mandatory energy tax added to your electric utility bill. Participating in the demand response programs is a great way to offset this new mandated CES tax and earn back what you’ve already paid in…and then some.
